Police investigate early morning shooting in east Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department confirms an early Monday morning shooting at Parkway East Apartments, also known as 33 Carver, in east Jackson.
Investigators say one victim has been airlifted in the shooting that happened around 4:15 a.m.
The victim was in serious condition when airlifted, according to Sgt. Derick Tisdale. Investigators said he is now in stable condition.
Crime scene tape blocked off building D in the apartment complex while investigators interviewed witnesses and those who live in the neighborhood.
Police said they are going door to door to talk to residents who may know more details.
Officials said they believe this was targeted and that there is no further danger to the community.
The shooting is still under investigation.
