Suspect arrested after East Chattanooga fatal shooting
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – Chattanooga police have made an arrest in a shooting that killed a 27-year-old man.
Media outlets report that Cornelius Douglas was killed in an early morning shooting Sunday in East Chattanooga.
Responding officers found another man who’d been shot, 22-year-old Jermichael Tillery, about a block away from the crime scene. He was taken to a hospital and later arrested on charges of criminal homicide and possession of a firearm.
Chattanooga police say they don’t believe the shooting was gang related.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Tillery has an attorney.
