Red Cross honors local heroes with annual luncheon
JACKSON, Tenn. — The American Red Cross honored local heroes Thursday in downtown Jackson.
The Mid-West Chapter of the American Red Cross hosted this year’s “Heroes Luncheon” at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
Brownsville officers Joey Brown and Michael Clayborn received the honor of Uniformed Heroes of the Year.
Red Cross members chose Randy Love as this year’s Distinguished Service Member.
David Brumley was picked as the Red Cross Volunteer of the Year.
“We recognize their importance, and we want the community to know what these people are doing on the back end for our community, how they serve us, how they’re out there every day serving community to make things better for us,” said board director Alton Coleman.
