Best selling author cautions young girls of what they post online
JACKSON, Tenn.-“From hanging in the mall to hanging in Hollywood,” that was the theme Friday night as international bestselling author Teej Mercer took the stage at the Delta Center.
A graduate of Jackson Central-Merry High School, she is the head of Media Mavericks Academy where she works with business owners who want to use media to expand their brands. However, Mercer cautioned young girls about the dangers of what they post online for the world to see.
“They’ve impacted their future because they’ve put something out there that wasn’t really a good representation of them as the totality of their person and yet that one mistake, that one tweet… just got their scholarship yanked,” said Tondra”Teej” Mercer.
If Mercer looks familiar, she said it is because she was crowned Miss Jackson Central-Merry in 1990.
