Lane College seniors attend baccalaureate services
JACKSON, Tenn.-The beginning of a new era just a day before graduation as hundreds of Lane College seniors gathered at William H. Graves Auditorium for their baccalaureate services, Friday night.
Reverend Larry Batie spoke at the event and organizers said they hope students will take the message with them.
“They will receive a blessing from our chaplain and we are hoping that that blessing will transform their lives, that they’ll be inspired so it’s an inspirational service”, said Dr. Michelle Stewart, vice president for Academic Affairs with Lane College.
Lane’s commencement ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oman Arena.
Actor Danny Glover is serving as the guest speaker.
