National Drug Take Back Day in the Hub City
JACKSON, Tenn.—The Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 11th opportunity in six years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
They hosted their drug take back day at three different locations in the Hub City Saturday.
Those collecting the old or expired drugs say they had around 100-pounds submitted with all the locations combined.
Officials say this public safety initiative helps prevent misuse and abuse of prescription drugs.
