Marine Corps League hosts fundraiser golf tourney

JACKSON, Tenn. — A rainy Monday morning didn’t stop a special golf tournament put on by the local Marine Corps League.

Marine Corps League golf tournamentThe Capt. Jack Holland Marine Corps League hosted the tournament at Jackson National Golf Club with 17 teams sponsoring the work of the military group.

Organizers say their past fundraisers have benefited the Halls Air Museum, Toys for Tots and the proposed State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads.

“Exposure for the Marine Corps League is one, and then, two, raise money so we can give back to our communities through charitable contribution to veterans organizations,” Bryce West, commandant of the Capt. Jack Holland Marine Corps League, said of the tournament.

Along with first-, second- and third-place prizes, awards were also given for longest drive and closest to the pin.
