What is a Blackberry Winter?

During the springtime, our temperatures can change dramatically. We get periods of hot weather and some of extreme cold. We’ve also had temperatures drop below freezing as late as April 25th back in 2015!

In the middle of Springtime, some of our cold snaps are often referred to as “Blackberry Winter” but they can go by many other names.

For Jackson, during the year of 2016 so far, we’ve had cold snaps and warm snaps come through. As a matter of fact, our warmest day so far was in the middle of March! We reached a high of 87°F on March 15th. There will be plenty of warm weather still to come but for the time being it looks like our weather will remain cool for most of the workweek in this first full week of May.
