Some Parkview Learning Center students miss class due to flooding

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Some Jackson-Madison County students didn’t make it into the classroom Tuesday because parts of their building were flooded.

Parkview Learning CenterThe Parkview Learning Center had portions of the building closed off Tuesday morning after a pipe burst, causing flooding in some areas.

Some of the students were still able to get to their dry classrooms.

School system officials say they’re working to fix problems like this to keep kids from missing any class time.

“We want to make sure that our students are in class every day that they have the opportunity to be,” said school system spokesperson Ginger Carver. “We are fortunate that we didn’t have to use all of our snow days this year, and we’ve not had to be out as much as we have in the past.”

The school system says there was no major damage done to the building.

All the students at the Parkview Learning Center are expected to be in class Wednesday.
