Investigation is ongoing for JCM teacher who allegedly showed inappropriate movie
JACKSON, Tenn. — WBBJ on Wednesday obtained the personnel file of the Jackson Central-Merry High School teacher who has been suspended without pay for allegedly showing students an inappropriate movie.
JCM Health Science instructor Michelle Blankenship was suspended from her duties April 22 pending an investigation into the alleged showing of the horror film “Human Centipede 2” to students.
It is unclear if Blankenship or a student turned on the movie, but the Jackson-Madison County School District believes she was watching another teacher’s class along with her own at the time of the incident.
The district declined any further comment pending their investigation. If the allegations against Blankenship are determined to be false, she will be able to return to work with back pay.
JCM Principal Dr. Charles Clark says this occurrence isn’t consistent with the mission and vision of Jackson Central Merry.
A letter was sent home to parents explaining the incident. The district said in a statement they take these allegations seriously.
As of Wednesday, the internal investigation into the incident is ongoing.
