Fire officials investigate blaze that destroyed Humboldt home
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Fire officials say they are making progress in their investigation of a fire that destroyed a home Thursday night.
The home went up in flames just before 8 p.m. on Forked Oak Lane. Firefighters say the house is a total loss.
Officials say no one was inside at the time.
After battling the flames for more than four hours, officials say they’re trying to figure out exactly how the fire started.
“It is not suspicious whatsoever,” Fire Chief Chester Owens said. “We do have some concerns made where it started, but nothing suspicious about the fire.”
A few firefighters had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
