Students are busy studying for their finals at FHU, many using the library as a safe place, but Friday afternoon students said they received a disturbing alert from the school.

“It just stated that there was a man driving a blue Chevy truck and it said that he was acing inappropriately towards the female population,” FHU Senior Tracie Spicklemore said.

Students said they received the alert through text or email around 6 p.m.

Police say the man was spotted doing the same thing outside a business in Henderson right before he showed up on campus around 4:30 p.m.

Students said despite the alarming message, they still feel safe on campus.Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 10.08.37 PM

“I don’t really feel unsafe. I know that we have really good security here and everyone knows everyone and the school is good about contacting us about things like that,” FHU Junior Taylor Homsley said.

“For students, this is when we are out the most is when we are going from the (cafeteria) to the library through our dorms and back and forth,” Spicklemore said.

Campus security would not say how this could affect their presence, instead referred all questions to the Henderson Police Department.

“They now what’s going on and I hope that they also send out an alert if something is done, if he is caught, or if has been a while where he hasn’t been seen,” Spicklemore said.

Henderson police said if you have any information regarding their person of interest or recognize the vehicle, give them a call at (731) 989-5405.
