Deputies charge Gibson Co. woman with arson
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies have arrested a woman on an arson charge on accusations of setting a house on fire.
Janice Buckingham, 50, was arrested Monday morning, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.
She is accused of starting a fire April 16 in the living room of her son’s Ira Falls Road home outside Trenton.
She reportedly called 911 and said she returned home to find the fire after being gone only about 30 minutes.
Fire officials say the blaze had burned itself out by the time crews arrived.
Investigators determined the fire was suspicious and recovered a large amount of evidence, according to the Gibson County Fire Department.
Buckingham is being held at the Gibson County Correctional Complex in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
