Cochran, Wicker: 12 airports to get grants for upgrades
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Twelve Mississippi airports will benefit from more than $4.15 million in grants awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation to help with facility upgrades.

The grants will support projects at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, for runway rehabilitation; construction of a terminal building at Philadelphia Municipal Airport; apron, runway and taxiway rehabilitation and an update of the airport master plan study at McCharen Field Airport in West Point; and airport drainage improvements and installation of perimeter fencing at Poplarville-Pearl River County Airport.
Other projects include work at airports in Louisville, Columbus, Lexington, Starkville, Winona and Montgomery County, Copiah County, Natchez-Adams County and the University-Oxford Airport.
