Jackson Rotary Club gives scholarships to graduating seniors
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rotary Club honored some of the Hub City’s best students Wednesday.
Nine graduating seniors from a mix of public and private high schools each were awarded $1,000 scholarships from the civic group.
Organizers say it’s well deserved for the students who put in so much work for their community.
“It’s overwhelming hearing about their accomplishments and all that they’re doing in schools these days and also that the $1,000 goes a long way to pay for their college tuitions,” Jackson Rotary Club member Greg Alexander said.
To be eligible for the scholarships, the students had to have outstanding grades as well as be active Junior Rotarians, serving alongside the Jackson Rotary Club.
