JMC school board holds budget meeting Wednesday

JACKSON, Tenn.-Fresh off Tuesday night’s school board meeting, where some capitol expenses were approved, the Jackson-Madison County School Board held a budget meeting Wednesday morning.

The top, Wednesday, the school system’s five-year plan for capitol improvements. The school budget committee talked through the proposed plan ranking each project in order of priority at each school.

The idea is for most of the projects to be finished within five years.

“At some schools, even though it is a ‘1’, it will always be a ‘1’ if it’s undisturbed it may not get done right now. But if it is disturbed,
if it becomes urgent, it gets taken care of immediately,” said School Supt. Verna Ruffin.

No decisions were made in the meeting. It was used as a time to communicate and ask questions about the five-year plan.
