Civic group announces plan for Veterans Memorial Gazebo at Jackson park
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local civic organization unveiled plans Thursday for a veterans memorial to be constructed at a north Jackson park.
“Keep Jackson Beautiful” announced the Veterans Memorial Gazebo at its benefit luncheon at Liberty Garden Park.
The organization says it sees the gazebo as a way to be able to continue to honor veterans in the Freedom Plaza.
“This structure will be a covered area where they will be able to sit and visit and meditate and be able to share stories,” Liberty Garden chairwoman Tammy Buchanan said.
Organizers say they plan to have the structure built by Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
