Rolison Too Much For ECS
JACKSON, Tenn — Normally all the USJ Bruins need from pitcher Ryan Rolison is for him to step on the mound and pitch. Friday afternoon he did a little bit more.
Rolison was able to knock in four runs, plus pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts.
Head coach Jack Peel said this was Rolison worst game of the year believe it or not, this being the first time the pitcher has given up an earned run all season.
Rolison said he was a little rusty at first, he wasn’t attacking the zone and letting his defense make plays like he should have. But he settled in to get the job done. He gave credit to the ECS hitters, saying they were putting the barrel of the bat on the ball and did a good job against him.
The team did get the win, but fell to Harding Academy the next game. They locked up the number 2 seed for sub state, which they will host next weekend.
Rolison said, he will pitch with a chip on his shoulder for the next few weeks and hopefully his team can make a run to add another state championship to the Bruins collection.
