Michael Wayne Baker, 36, of Parsons is accused of shooting at a motorist following him on a local highway. The motorist was trying to write down Baker’s license plate number after becoming suspicious of the vehicle, according to a U.S. Marshals release.

Henderson County officials issued a warrant for Baker after the incident on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, theft and vandalism.

Marshals say they caught up with Baker Tuesday night at a home in Linden after a joint investigation by Henderson, Decatur and Perry counties.

Baker attempted to flee when officers approached the residence but was taken into custody after a brief struggle, according to the release.

He was transported to the Perry County jail to await a hearing.
