Police: Student brought gun, drugs to Mississippi school
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi police have arrested a St. Stanislaus College student after they say he brought a pistol and bags of marijuana onto the campus Friday.
The Sun Herald reports Bay St. Louis police arrested 18-year-old Irvin Paul Compass, of New Orleans, on possessing a deadly weapon on educational property and two drug charges.
Police say school officials stopped Compass when he attempted to return to the school after leaving earlier in the day. They say a search of his book bag led to the discovery of an unloaded .380-caliber pistol and 13 bags of marijuana.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for Compass.
St. Stanislaus College is a school for boys in grades 7-12. It has been owned and operated by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart order.
