Gibson Co. minister charged with aggravated sexual battery
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A local minister is facing sexual battery charges on accusations of touching a boy in a sexual manner.
James L. Marcus, 70, of Trenton was arrested Friday on two counts of aggravated sexual battery, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.
Marcus is a minister at Fairview Church of Christ north of Milan, according to the sheriff’s office.
Marcus admitted to touching a white male juvenile in a sexual manner from the time the boy was 6 to 10 years old, according to a release from the department.
Some of the alleged offenses reportedly took place in Marcus’ home while others took place either in a vehicle or in the immediate area around Marcus’ home, the release states.
Marcus is being held in the Gibson County Correctional Complex in lieu of a $25,000 bond. No court date has been set.
