JFD: home a total loss after garage fire

JACKSON,Tenn.–A Jackson family is displaced after a fire destroys their home.

Firefighters with the Jackson Fire Department said the fire engulfed the garage of the home around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Investigators said the fire appears to be accidental and could have been caused by the water heater in the garage.

A man driving by knocked on the door to alert a woman living inside the home, according t ofirefighters on scene.

The woman and her son were able to make it out of the home. No injuries have been reported.
