Scottish Inn shooting suspect charged Friday

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man suspected of opening fire on a man May 20 in the parking lot of a north Jackson motel was charged Friday.

Police say he fired at least four times, hitting the victims car. Officers say it stemmed from a fight over a woman.

Troy Taylor is charged with aggravated assault.

Taylor is also charged with three additional counts over the alleged strangling of his ex-girlfriend the day before the shooting.

Court records show she had been granted a no-contact order against Taylor.
