Discovery Park holds 3rd annual Cardboard Regatta
UNION CITY, Tenn. — Sailors from around West Tennessee made their way to the Discovery Park of America Saturday afternoon to take part in a one-of-a-kind race on the water.
“We started this three years ago, and it’s become a great annual event,” said John Watkins, grounds director at Discovery Park. “We get a lot of excitement every year and see who can float a cardboard boat.”
Around 15 boats took part in the regatta this year, many of them winning awards ranging from most creative to the Titanic Award for the most spectacular sinking.
