Hollywood Cemetery hosts Memorial Day service
JACKSON, Tenn.–American heroes were honored Sunday afternoon at one of Jackson’s oldest cemeteries.
The Hollywood Cemetery hosted it’s 19th annual Memorial Day Service to honor fallen soldiers.
VFW posts 1848 and 6496 participated in the ceremony. “We just want to memorialize them and let their families know and the nation as a whole know, that they are not forgotten,” John Harrison, a Desert Storm Veteran said.
Organizers said they plan to continue the tradition next year. They are currently working to determine how many veterans are buried at the cemetery.
Some gravesites belong to soldiers who fought during the Spanish-American War.
