Hundreds of runners, walkers turn out for annual “Twilight Run”
JACKSON, Tenn.-West Tennesseans came out Thursday night for the fourth annual “Twilight Run and Rooftop Rendezvous.”
More than 800 runners and walkers hit the pavement near Jackson-Madison County General Hospital to raise money and awareness for families who lost infants after birth. The yearly event is sponsored by the non-profit “Heaven’s Cradle.”
“Everyone knows someone who has lost a baby. This is something many women suffer in silence and this is an outlet for them. This is a way for them to feel seen and a way for the families to remember the child they have lost,” said Abby Lackey, founder of “Heaven’s Cradle.”
The events included a 5K race, a one mile run and walk, and runners ended the night with a “rooftop rendezvous” with live music and food.
