Madison Co. Sheriff’s Dept. investigating reported suicide attempt at jail
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-Officials with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a reported suicide attempt at the county jail.
According to Public Information Officer Tom Mapes, CJC guards were making rounds just after noon Friday, when they found a female inmate attempting to hang herself with her underwear.
She was not injured, however as a precaution she was taken to a local hospital and was later released. Mapes said the inmate will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
