Meridian man convicted of setting fire to son’s 2 homes
MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) – A Meridian man has been convicted of setting fire to two homes that were owned by his son.
WLBT-TV reports 52-year-old James William Wiggins entered an open plea to one count of first degree arson and one count of second degree arson in Lauderdale County.
Attorney General Jim Hood says the first fire was set in August 2013 and the second in March 2014.
His sentencing is scheduled for July 6.
Wiggins faces up to 20 years in prison plus restitution for property damages for the first-degree arson conviction and up to 10 years in prison for the second-degree arson conviction.
