Protesters gather outside Target

JACKSON, Tenn — A group of protesters made their way outside of a local Target Saturday morning, objecting to their new bathroom policy.

Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 9.12.16 PMArmed with signs with sayings such as ‘Target’s values are not my values,’ a handful of protesters from the around the Jackson area stood outside of Target Saturday in North Jackson.

The group says they’re encouraging others to boycott the store over their new bathroom policies.

Lucy Overstreet, leader of the Jackson-Madison County Tea Party says, “And this is wrong because it’s going to encourage sexual predators and that is our concern, so we have been standing out here boycotting Target asking people not to ‘target’ our girls.”

Target’s website reads “We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”
