Carpenters for Christ help church in Dyer

DYER, Tenn. — Some special carpenters are now at work for a congregation in Dyer.

The volunteer group Carpenters for Christ is spending the next week adding onto the New Hope Baptist Church on New Hope Road, a congregation of about 70 members.

Representing six states, volunteers will work there for nearly a week when another group is set to come in, picking up where they left off.

The church in Dyer celebrated 100 years of service in November 2014. Members say they’ve wanted to add onto their building for years.

Builders hope to have the project done by December.
