Firefighters jump around at Sky Zone to talk fire safety with kids
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Madison County firefighters spent some time Thursday jumping around and talking safety with kids.
The Madison County Fire Department hosted “Jump with a Firefighter” at Sky Zone Trampoline Park in northeast Jackson.
Both organizers and jumpers had fun sharing advice about keeping their homes safe.
“Prevention is the key, and if we can prevent one injury from just being able to communicate with these children, that’s what it’s all about,” Madison County Fire Marshal Don Friddle said.
“I think when people jump together in a situation like this they enjoy being together — it kind of breaks down some walls and they’re able to be comfortable around them,” Sky Zone general manager S.L. Pemberton said.
All the money from admission to the event goes toward the department’s public education events and this year’s Firefighters Freedom Festival.
