McNairy Co. musical heritage recognized, celebrated with annual Hall of Fame event

MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn.-McNairy County came together Friday night to celebrate their musical heritage and those who have made music over the years.

The annual Hall of Fame ceremony started in 2012 and inducted their fifth class this year. Friday’s inductees included Bo Jack Killingsworth, Waldo Davis, Neal and Arlas English and Freda and Dwight Locke.

“Folks come out to support those who have really influenced their music. We have a lot of musicians here we have a lot of family members here, we have a lot of music fans who have enjoyed this music over the years. They come out to see these people honored and it’s a great night for everybody,” said Shawn Pitts, founder of Arts McNairy.

The ceremony included musical tributes and the history of each artist. The Arts McNairy Foundation hopes to build a walking trail in the next year to honor inductees.
