Police: Man charged with DUI, evading arrest after he wouldn’t pull over

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man faces charges including evading arrest and possession of a handgun while intoxicated after police say he didn’t stop when they tried to pull him over.

Antonio Franklin is charged with DUI along with other charges after police tried to pull him over just before 1 a.m. Monday, according to court documents.

Police say they tried to pull over the Nissan car he was driving near the intersection of Grove Avenue and Tricia Cove for improper lights and a seat belt violation.

The officer pursued Franklin as he ran a stop sign on Perry Switch Road before stopping on Dakota Cove, according to police.

After taking Franklin into custody, officers found an unloaded 9 mm handgun in the car along with two loaded clips.
