Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Tuesday

Showers and thunderstorms may linger into overnight hours, but most of West Tennessee will be dry overnight. Skies will be partly cloudy with temperatures dropping to just the low and middle 70s by Wednesday morning for another warm and muggy night. There’s a potential for one or two thunderstorms to become strong or severe in West Tennessee Wednesday afternoon.

WEDNESDAY
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible again tomorrow with a 40% chance for rain. However, during the afternoon, there are a few ingredients that could lead to storms become strong or severe, especially in northwest Tennessee near the Tennessee River.

If you don’t see any rain tomorrow, temperatures will likely warm up to the lower to middle 90s with the humidity making temperatures feel like they’re over 100°F again!

REST OF THE WEEK
Thursday looks to be a drier day with regards to rainfall but the heat and humidity will likely continue with temperatures once again feeling like they’re in the triple digits. Stay safe in the heat! A cold front will come closer to West Tennessee Thursday night and Friday morning returning a few scattered showers and thunderstorms to the area, but there’s less confidence now that it will push all the way through the area. If it does, that would mean less humidity for the weekend. Let’s hope that happens! Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the very latest updates to this forecast.

Have a good evening!
