Accused gunman in deadly Jackson shooting appears in court
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused in a deadly January shooting outside a west Jackson apartment complex made an appearance in court Thursday morning.
Cornelius Jones appeared in Jackson City Court where he was appointed a public defender after failing to hire an attorney since his last appearance.
Jones is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Mondarrius Miller at the Villages at Old Hickory apartments in January.
Jones is due in court again for a hearing in 30 days.
