WRAP expands services to 6 new West Tenn. counties

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local nonprofit aimed at helping victims of violence is expanding its services to an additional 200,000 residents in West Tennessee.

WRAPThe Wo/Mens’ Resource and Rape Assistance Program, or WRAP, will begin providing services to an additional six counties July 1.

“In several of these counties, we’ve already been providing services to these victims,” WRAP Executive Director Daryl Chansuthus said.

According to a statement on the Northwest Safeline Domestic Violence Agency’s website, until 5 p.m. Wednesday, NWSL provided services to victims of domestic abuse in Dyer, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, Tipton and Weakley counties via field agencies.

“Those services will continue, and in fact they will have access to additional services should they need them,” Chansuthus said.

Chansuthus said WRAP will be able to offer case management and financial assistance to those in need.

WRAP is actively recruiting to fill five new staff positions for the newly acquired coverage area.

The current NWSL shelter in Union City will also stay open under WRAP.
