Gulfport to hold bench warrant amnesty day Monday
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Residents with an active bench warrant for arrest in the City of Gulfport have the chance to make it right without fear of arrest on Bench Warrant Amnesty Day.
WLOX-TV reports the city on Monday will waive the $677.75 contempt of court fee and any late fees accrued for warrants. All residents have to do is appear at Municipal Court for a special hearing on June 20 between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Residents who have received a bench warrant are encouraged to bring the letter sent by the city to court.
An arrest warrant will be served at either at home or at work for those who do not appear in court, or fail to make arrangements.
