Local family hopes for justice 4 years after murder

JACKSON, Tenn. — One Jackson family came together this weekend to remember the life of their loved one after he was murdered.

Family members said 20-year-old Marcio Murphy was killed four years ago after a homeowner found his body in a burglarized apartment in Nashville.

The family says they still haven’t received answers surrounding his death but they want to do their part to stop the violence.

“He is a person just like everybody else is,” god-brother Chris Ganaway said. “They’ve been talking about all the other cases, and we want his case to be talked about as well.”

The family remembered Murphy by having a cookout in Muse Park where they wore shirts and socks with his name and face on them.

They are still hoping someone comes forward with information in Murphy’s death.
