Kim arrested on new theft charge

JACKSON, Tenn. — A list of new charges have been filed against 31-year-old Andrew Kim, a Jackson man accused of stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise from a local furniture store.

Court documents show Kim has been charged with burglary and theft of property over $500 after authorities believe he deceived cashiers at Dicks Sporting Goods in north Jackson to give him a gift card for items he hadn’t bought from the store to begin with.

Just last month, Kim was arrested on accusations of stealing $6,000 worth of merchandise from Coffman’s Home Furnishings and doing $2,000 worth of damage to the store in the process.

Days later, Kim was charged with stealing merchandise from Outdoors Inc. in January.

He was also charged in Shelby County on 12 similar counts.

Kim was arraigned Saturday morning in Jackson City Court where his bond was set at $50,000.
