City Recorder questioned about job performance
DYER, Tenn. — Officials in the City of Dyer held a special meeting Monday evening to discuss the job performance of their city recorder.
In question, Nathan Reed’s job performance. The meeting followed a number of complaints from area business about the way Reed was performing his duties. Questions also arose about his handling of city funds as well as missed deadlines.
Reed, who attended the meeting, took the opportunity to address the board and community.
“I feel called to serve here, where I live,” said Reed. “I regret that this has come about in this way.”
City leaders questioned other responsibilities Reed has taken on, but decided in the end he will keep his job. However, city leaders are considering adding extra help in his office to help ensure he can focus on his responsibilities as city recorder.
