Miss Tennessee gets gifts for trip across state
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The new Miss Tennessee now has a special car to drive along with custom jewelry to wear as she makes her way across the state.
Grace Burgess, who won the crown Saturday night, was in Humboldt on Monday to get the keys to a car from auto dealer Chuck Graves.
The dealership says she probably will use several different cars during her reign.
“A friend of mine came to me that has to do the pageant several years ago and offered me the opportunity to help the pageant, snd I was looking for a downside and there wasn’t one, so we decided to do it,” said Chuck Graves, owner of Chuck Graves Chevrolet.
Miss Tennessee then went to Milan and received a custom ring to wear — a crown made out of diamonds — from Custom Jewelers.
“We’re going to make her one next year a little bigger,” Custom Jewelry owner Mark Manning said with a laugh.
Miss Tennessee will travel for the governor’s office while preparing for the Miss America Pageant in September.
