‘Camp Imaginarium’ to host ‘Country Music Lends Down a Hand’ show in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — Campers took the stage Tuesday at the Casey Jones Village Amphitheater to practice for their biggest show of the summer.
Hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of West Tennessee, Camp Imaginarium participants will conduct their fourth annual concert Wednesday night, called “Country Music Lends Down a Hand.”
Campers will perform with professional singers and songwriters with all proceeds going to other kids just like them.
“Their lives are complicated with lots of therapies and extra schooling, and this gives them a moment ot be in the limelight and show the community who they are and what they can do,” Margaret Dougan, co-director of the Down Syndrome camp.
The doors open at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
