UPDATE: U.S. Marshalls arrest man wanted out of Benton Co.
BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. –U.S. Marshalls arrested a man Thursday evening wanted on forgery charges after an afternoon of searching through the woods.
Brandon Cherry fled Thursday morning from a home where deputies found he had been staying, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department.
“When we started investigating this morning we stopped at three different locations, and interviewed people and through the investigation we came up with the fact that we thought Mr. Cherry might be at this location off of Lick Creek Road ,” Sheriff Kenny Christopher said.
Cherry reportedly fled from the home about 10 minutes before deputies arrived.
“He told us that Brandon Cherry had left about ten minutes before we got here, that he had received a phone call from someone, and he took off out the back door,” the sheriff said.
Deputies were searching for Cherry in the Deerwood Park area off of Lick Creek Road north of Big Sandy, according to the sheriff’s office.
U.S. Marshalls found Cherry in the area he was last seen in through further investigation.
Cherry is supposed to be serving a four-year probation sentence, according to the sheriff’s office.
