Man charged in deadly shooting has case sent to grand jury

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused in a deadly shooting outside a west Jackson apartment complex appeared Thursday in court.

Cornelius Jones Court (1)Cornelius Jones had his preliminary hearing in Jackson City Court. Three witnesses testified before Judge Blake Anderson decided whether there is enough evidence to move the case forward.

Witnesses talked about what happened the night Mondarrious Miller was fatally wounded and were shown pictures of evidence from the scene.

The judge sent the case on to the grand jury.

If indicted, Jones will be arraigned on Sept. 6.
