Woman accused of giving police false name, fleeing traffic stop appears in court

JACKSON, Tenn. — Danielle Norwood appeared Thursday morning in Jackson City Court after police say she gave them false information during a traffic stop.
Police say on June 9, Norwood was a passenger in a vehicle they pulled over and gave them a false name and Social Security number. Court papers say she fled from the scene, already having a previous warrant out for her arrest.
“She continues to get into trouble, then failed to report back to court a couple of years ago when she got into trouble. I’m going to leave her bond the same,” Judge Blake Anderson said after she asked for a hold to be taken off of her bond.
Norwood faces charges of theft of property under $500, evading arrest, two counts of criminal impersonation, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, domestic vandalism, simple domestic assault, and introduction of contraband.
Norwood’s hearing was reset because one of the witnesses was not in court. She is scheduled to reappear June 30.
