General Mills announces granola bar recall for listeria concerns
JACKSON, Tenn. — Check your pantry for a popular brand of granola bars that have been recalled.
General Mills announced a recall today of four varieties of Nature Valley granola bars. The granola bars that are affected contain sunflower seeds that could be contaminated with listeria. The recall has been issued as part of an ongoing national recall by SunOpta, the sunflower kernel supplier to General Mills.
The recalled bars include:
- Nature Valley Protein Chewy Bar – Honey Peanut & Almond with Pumpkin Seeds
- Nature Valley Protein Chewy Bar – Peanut, Almond & Dark Chocolate
- Nature Valley Simple Nut Bar – Almond, Cashew & Sea Salt
- Nature Valley Simple Nut Bar – Roasted Peanut & Honey
No illnesses have been reported. Nature Valley reported that no other products have been affected.
Consumers with the affected bars can return them for a full refund, or contact General Mills.
