Jackson home and business owners receive Mayor’s Civic Pride Awards

JACKSON, TENN. — Some Jackson home and business owners have a shiny new award to compliment their pristine yards and gardens.
The mayor handed out his annual civic pride awards Tuesday to individuals and businesses who strive to make their areas and the city look great.
Awards were given out in categories like best green space, best environmental stewardship and best private residents.
“We give these awards because they are a cut above and some of them are so good at yardscape, color coordination, I made the comment that if I’m around them I start getting inferiority complex because they are so good at what they do.” says Mayor Jerry Gist.
A total of 17 awards were handed out today.
