Jackson Rotary Club names Member of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local civic club named its member of the year Wednesday.

Members of the Jackson Rotary Club met for lunch and named Joe Exum as their Rotarian of the Year. Exum was noted for his contributions to his community, the club and to others.

Exum says he was surprised and believes his commitment to teaching members about the history of the club earned him the honor.

“I talked to them about things that happened to the club during the first 100 years and mainly about the 58 years that I’ve been a member, so it was a fun thing to do,” Exum said.

Exum has been a member of the Rotary Club since 1944.
