Jackson man’s latest theft charges waived to grand jury
JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man charged with stealing from a local store while free on bond on similar counts returned to court Thursday for a hearing on his latest charges.
Andrew Kim, 31, appeared with his attorney on felony theft and burglary counts involving Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Last month, Kim was arrested on charges of stealing $6,000 worth of merchandise from Coffman’s Home Furnishings, also in north Jackson.
He faces similar counts in Memphis.
On Thursday, Kim waived his right to a preliminary hearing, allowing his case to go to the grand jury.
“We’re working with the police and the district attorney’s office toward a resolution, potentially,” said Mark Donahoe, Kim’s attorney. “At the same time, we’re working with the defense of the case and doing our own investigation.”
Donahoe says his client intends to plead not guilty to these latest charges.
