Weather Update: 9:30 PM Monday

Currently scattered showers are still moving across West Tennessee. The western half of the area looks to be in the clear for now, but more rain is likely overnight tonight and into Tuesday. It’s muggy and mild with temps across the area in the mid and upper 70s.

Tonight temps won’t move too much more and we’ll keep the mostly cloudy skies. The clouds will trap temperatures where they are making them remain steady as we head overnight. More rain is possible to push through early on Tuesday making for a chance for more rain as we head to work in the morning.

More rain activity looks to develop mainly after 3 AM, especially in the southern half of the area. By the later morning hours areas along the KY/TN could see more showers and t’storms develop. Most of the rain looks to be scattered but we could get some pockets of heavy rain and thunderstorms that would brings some frequent lightning as well.

Tuesday and Wednesday keep rain chances in the forecast. Lingering moisture will be the fuel to these showers and thunderstorms over the next few days. By the end of week, we’ll get to dry out a little bit and warm back into the mid 90s.
